We're moving!

All the negotiating, selling and buying are completed and we are actually moving out to our new older home on 7 acres in the country. It has a gorgeous huge backyard (5 acres) surrounded by trees and a marais. I think I can convince my husband I need some laying hens next spring. I might be able to bring several of my 6 horses home. My dogs can roam the yard without scaring neighbors. (We have a 120 pound black rottweiler X german sheperd that intimidates people that don't know he is really a lap dog in a large body.) And most importantly, on September 1 I get to start redecorating and remodeling!!!

I love yardwork also, so will definitely be revamping flower beds and transplanting perennials from our current home. So much to do, so many projects! I can't wait to get started!!

Joining in on Outdoor Wednesday

I decided I could join A Southern Dreamer for Outdoor Wednesday. I look forward to this red field of poppies blooming every year. I pass by it every day as it is planted right before my subdivision. The rest of the flowers are from my bright chaotic garden. I have a lot to learn about photography but I sure do like my camera. Enjoy!

Favorite things

Here are some of my favorite pieces of stoneware. I have always loved white ironstone and white dishes. They remind me of Grandma's dishes. I have some of my platters hung on the soffit above my sink. I found a box of Wedgewood dishes with an incomplete set for $12.00 for the box about 7 years ago. I still love them! And I found this pear that I think looks great with another grouping of odds and ends I have collected over time. One can never have too many old white dishes. There is just something simple, lovely, and yet rich about them. I will definitely continue to pick up white stoneware and ironstone when I find it. (but never serve berries in your old white dishes. :( OOPS!! anyone know how to remove the stains?!)

And I want to thank Angela Harris for the tag I won. I was so excited when I got an envolope in the mail today with the tag I won in her givewawy. Thank you!!!

Looking for Time

Here is another one of my time user uppers. I love the mixed media collages that people create, so I finally got brave enough to play around and here is my first try. I think I like it but I will definitely keep creating to develop my own style and design.

There is just never enough time! I have way too many interests and it is so very hard to find time for all of them. I have tried to convince my husband he would love a stay at home wife but we both agree that neither of us could do without my income. If I only was interested in my home, crafts, reading, and etc. I could probably find enough time to work and play. But I also have the privilege of owning 6 horses and trying to show two of them in different events. That takes a lot of time! I really just want an extra day each week. I would make good use of it! I would visit family and friends that I don't see often enough. I would read professional journals in more detail. I would keep myself more organized. I promise I wouldn't pursue yet another hobby or interest...

Smoke

My husband gifted me with with a professional photography session with several of my horses. This is one of my favorites of my 4 year old grulla foundation quarter horse mare Burn a Little Smoke (aka Smoke). The picture was taken by Christina Doyea.

Productive Weekend

I LOVE all the ideas I get from you bloggers out there. I had some time this weekend so played around with some of the projects I have admired. Here are two chalkboards I made out of silver trays (bought for $2.00 and the other $.50!). They haven't been drying long enough to write on them yet but you get the idea. This came from several bloggers: Bless Our Nest and The Shabby Nest. Thank you for the great idea!!
I found instructions to make stamped washers from Sugardoodle. I have 6 horses that I board and two of them are leased out to a teenage girl. She and several of her horse friends are frequently out riding and I so enjoy those girls. I made these necklaces for the girls just for fun.
It was a great weekend with sun, relaxation, crafting and now this evening another sprint to get our house ready for a showing tomorrow. Thank goodness I live in a part of the country that has not been affected much at all by the housing problems the rest of the nation is having so our house should sell relatively soon.
