waiting for our first big winter storm to hit....
Baskets, dried hydrangeas, ironstone, old silver, ruined vintage books, shutters, and my little handmade books come together.
Mixed textures add to the mix.
Can't get enough of making these miniature journals.
Mixing modern and vintage in my own eclectic style. Don't you love this old ice chest I got for a very small price? I am sure it was sitting in an outbuilding someplace as the back and bottom of the cabinet were quite water damaged. I love the chippy white paint with the old yellow wood showing through, The drawer with the lace and player piano rolls is metal. the top is enamel like the old tables you can sometimes still find. I adore this piece!

Random decorating
It is that time of year when spring is really about 2 months away yet, but it feels like time to start moving away from winter. And there are no holidays to guide decorating, so it gets to be a time to try out random styles. And in this case literally random....
A random collection of objects displayed on my living mantel.
I love my antique barbwire collection. This is just a small handful of it displayed in an old sewing machine drawer, along with an antique lace piece, and a photo of my granddaughter.
And I will definitely be making some more Scrabble style letter tiles. I couldn't decide what I wanted to spell so decided it could just be random for now.
Added in my jars of keys, Scrabble tiles, and typewriter keys that I am hoarding.
Uhm, I didn't vacuum before I started taking pictures and our new kitten makes a mess at times when playing.
Relatively simple and random collection of things to lighten up the mantel and reflect a bit more sunshine.
The wreath is an old project I made last year I think.
You never know what things can be randomly pulled together to create a cohesive look. (Who spied the love on my mantel? )

Around the Stable
Just some images from around the barn...
Rows of bridles
Leather and metal
Well used tools of the trade
Neatly hanging, waiting for the next horse
Western style bling (no shiny bling for reiners)
Beautiful in its own way
Watching and waiting for the next ride...
