Scrappy Denim Bracelets

I thought I would make something quick to join the Its a Cinch Linky Party.  This idea has been floating around in my brain for a bit.   I thought the seem of old jeans might make a good base for some fun casual bracelets.

A little bling and romance made with scraps from worn out jeans.  What do you think?

They were pretty quick and easy to make.  I cut the seams from an old pair of jeans.  Then I sewed a strand of rhinestone beads to on strip of the jeans seam.  The other bracelet is made by wrapping a  length of lace around the other piece of seam and sewing it on.  Then I cut out various sized of circles of denim, lace, and muslim to make the flower embellishments.  These flowers were sewn on with seed beads.  A bit of hand stitching, a bit of cutting, and viola!  Fun weekend jewelry.  I sewed some jewelry findings on the end.  The clasp is a lobster clasp and ring.

Who doesn't want some jewelry that you can wear to the lake, junk shopping, or just bumming around on the weekend and no worries if something happens to it?

I think they turned out pretty sweet.  I suspect I will be wearing these on horse show weekends!  Now the questions is.... Etsy worthy?

  12. I paid a lot at Juicy Couture for a bracelet similar to the one here with the rhinestones, wishing I could figure out how to make one myself. You did a great job! Thanks for sharing.

  13. When you cut the strip of demin along the seam, how do you ravel it? Eveytime I try it it goes into the seam and does not look right. This is on the denium bracelet with the beads sewn on it. Thanks for answer.

  14. I think I finally found something our teenage grand daughters might actually like and wear. If your bracelets aren't etsy worthy I don't know what is. So cute. I'd wear one and I'm an old lady. What can I say, we lived in San Diego area for 21 yrs., I still like younger stuff rather than old lady stuff (unless it's vintage). You are indeed an inspiration.Going to thrift store tomorrow to see if they still have some jean patches. They just cut up jeans and put a bunch of pieces together. Great stuff, found you thru Beyond the picket fence. Happy May Day
